I’m still impressed with your selection of parts vs price and the way the board is going together nicely. As an example I didn’t realize the fan you spec’d (for ~$12) was a full sized “muffin” fan. The real “Muffin” versions from what I remember over the years were pretty pricey.

There are few—if any at all—affordable benchtop machines available for home or small machine shop applications. It is our intent to fill this void by providing information and tools for building a reasonably priced, benchtop-sized EDM that has the capability of performing real, precision work.

Why EDM?

Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is a process that uses electrical discharges emitted from an electrode thousands or millions of times a second to erode an electrically conductive material. With this technology, it’s possible to erode or “burn” the reversed shape of an electrode into—or through—a workpiece. EDM allows for very unique and complicated methods of machining. And yes, you guessed it: perfectly square holes.
